The Crown Buildings in Ruislip were on Windmill Hill and were Govenment Offices for many things over the years including tax office and towards the end of their life a place to sign on and look for work, a dole office or, as they became known, a Job Centre.
In July 2007 the building was demolished and replaced with flats and, at the ground level, a retail unit which houses Dreams bed store

The whole area has a history of subsidence including the actual Crown Building where one day the staff turned up to find the floor had moved!
